“A couple of blackbirds, a squirrel, but no smaller cars braced shivering among the higher boughs.” made me lol…I pictured cars hanging like christmas ornaments all through the boughs.

Very nice story – a bit freaky! I wonder how that car would do out on the interstate at seventy miles an hour – wouldn’t want to hit a bump, though!

I’m really enjoying these pieces. This is becoming one of my favourite places to visit on a Friday lunchtime.

I’d written much more in my original comment, but none of it really summed up what I meant (one of the many reasons don’t have a short story blog of my own). So you’ll have to live with the very simplistic comment of “well done, I really liked it”.

Except for the bounciness, I hope the new tires were better than the old ones. Nice, surreal quality to this!
