Eloquent prose, bittersweet story. I kept wondering if the narrator was male or female. Either way, there is a nurturing tenderness to the narrator’s voice that I find really sweet.

I love the feeling you’ve created with this, the atmosphere. My two daughters are eleven years apart and you really nailed that bond and way of interacting. Very, very well done.
